Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
What is CBT? Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) has been demonstrated to be effective for a range of conditions but can also be an effective tool to help anyone learn how to better manage stressful life situations.
CBT therapists emphasize what is going on in the person’s current life, rather than what has led up to their difficulties and work together with the client to develop an understanding of the problem and to develop a treatment strategy that focuses upon existing thinking styles, learned behavioural patterns and emotional responses of ourselves and others. CBT places an emphasis on helping individuals learn to be their own therapists and continue with the practices taught in treatment, once the sessions have ended.

Your Therapist: Will be impartial but understanding. They will listen to you without judgment and help you explore your thoughts and emotions. They may offer information, but they won’t tell you what you should think or do. They will help you find your own solutions by initially describing CBT in more depth, agreeing your goals and focus of treatment and how many sessions you may need.
How often?: Initially your therapist will require a few sessions to work with you to understand your problems and how they impact upon you. Although CBT can often lead to improvement within a prescribed number of sessions, the total amount of sessions can vary dependent upon your required focus or treatment and goals. All sessions typically last 50 mins.
Where?: CBT can be offered either in person (face to face) or remotely (video)
Prices: £75 (Price per hour within Working Hours) - £85 (Price per hour Out of Working Hours)
